Technology Training Opportunities

CTL User Groups

A goal of the CTL is to provide work-related instructional technology support to the campus community.  One of the ways we provide this support is by bringing together people with mutual needs and interests to share information and learn from one another.  We have several user groups that help bridge connections between departments/programs and allow faculty and staff members a place to share what they know and learn effective ways of working with various software programs.

Adobe User Group (AUG)

The Adobe user group is designed for those individuals who use Adobe and would like to learn tips and techniques for working within an Adobe software program. You do not need to be an expert to join this group and we will cover a wide variety of topics within the Adobe software suite. Faculty and staff should be willing to participate and engage in conversations, share ideas with how they are using, or would like to use Adobe. This user group will meet once a month throughout the term for a FREE breakfast or lunch!

Now in it's third year, the Microsoft Office user group is for those individuals who use Microsoft Office on a daily basis and would like to learn ways of working more efficiently in Office. This group is for advance users and beginners, as we will explore tips and strategies to help you take advantage of the many features in Microsoft Office. Faculty and staff should be willing to participate and engage in conversations, share ideas with how they are using Office, and the success and hurdles of this software program. This user group will meet once a month throughout the term for a FREE breakfast or lunch!

We meet monthly over breakfast or lunch (the CTL buys your meal at Cowan), and discuss how we are using Qualtrics. Individuals discuss what has worked well, issues that they encounter, and collaborate with others in the group to find new ideas or solutions to existing problems.
